This is a new generation and for underage teen, drinking is the next cool thing. Why is drinking popular and what makes underage drinking so cool? Who is to blame for the stupidity of underage drinkers? People may think teens that choose to drink while underage don’t stop to think what the cause and effect will be.
It’s not all teenagers fault that they don’t think before drinking. Commercials on television are the worst influence on teens. They use really young actors/actresses to promote the alcohol. Also they pick the prettiest and best looking actors/actresses to lure teens into thinking that if they drink they’ll look like that or meet someone who looks like that. One can’t blame just television commercial for the influence of alcohol.
Parents on the other hand need to step it up and set a good example for their children. Some parents allow their kids to drink with them at home. Even though this is legal in most states this is the worst example a parent can ever set. By doing allowing this to happen they are telling their children that alcohol isn’t bad, since they drink it. Also they’re pretty much giving their child permission to drink when they’re not around. Parents need to be more responsible and alert. If they don’t want to see their child messed, in jail, or dead. They need to be real parents and take actions. Teens are influenced most of the time by people around them.
Sometimes going to school is the worst place to be influence due to peer pressure. Teens are influenced each day to do something that they know is wrong, but do it to keep their friends. Underage drinking is probably the biggest influence in schools that teenagers go through. Drinking to most teens make them feel mature and popular, since they can relate to others in the school. It makes them feel like they belong somewhere, so they’ll continue to do it. Sometimes it’s just fun to drink away the stress and pain that teenagers come across.
Even though underage drinking is common everywhere in the United States it doesn’t make it okay. Many people play a big part of why students don’t have any knowledge about the result of drinking underage, but drinking underage does not make it cool.
